Today was our Thanksgiving Luncheon at school and our Kindergarten rotations. Talk about a busy day!
Our class made Pilgrim and Indians hats and they got to choose which ones they wanted to wear today for our luncheon.
Those were a few...not the best pictures because I didn't want to get their faces in the pics :)
Our school invites all the parents to come in for a turkey lunch and it was amazing to see how many families came in! From the looks of it the kids had a blast!
Right after that we did our kindergarten rotations. There are four classes this year and each class gets to go to another room to do an activity with another teacher. In my room we made bean mosiacs - SO cute!
I had premade the cardboard pieces and all they had to do was glue and place the beans on the pattern provided. They loved using all the glue!
Across the hall the students played "the stick game" They kids get three sticks and they throw them in the air and then use the paper to see how many points they get.
In another class they made a hand print Mayflower:
And in the last class they made a bracelet retelling the story of the first Thanksgiving with beads:
They had to string the beads as the teacher told the story.
Wow - what a day! As I was walking around taking pictures I also wanted to share a few other things that are festive for this time of year.
We did a family project with "family ties" and used them for turkey feathers for this adorable hallway decoration:
Our school is collecting cans for a food drive for a local organization and we are keeping count of our cans outside our door:
Lastly - I got a chance to go across the street to my daughter's first thanksgiving at her preschool! :) She was dressed as the most adorable little Indian (native american).
While I was at her school I snapped a few photos of some projects that were super cute:
I know this is long but one more thing...I have some exciting news but I can't share just yet! :) So make sure you check back Saturday morning! :)
Happy Friday,
Christina
