Red Bird and Math Journals Introduction

Red Bird was MUCH easier than Brown Bear yesterday!  We actually got through the entire class today!  We have a few kids that haven't used scissors before. . .

. . . or glue bottles apparently. :)

Some people have asked where I get my Brown Bear booklet from. If you are interested it's available over at my TpT store: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Brown-Bear-Student-Booklet-653982

We also did our first day in our math journals.  If you don't use these you are really missing out.  There are a million math journals out there and this is my FAVORITE!  These are by Deedee Wills over at Mrs. Wills Kindergarten.   We started out with her Daily Math Journals for August and September which you can find by clicking this link. The only change that I have make is that I type them out on labels for the students to peel and stick in their composition books.  This week (and probably next week) I will really be training them on how to go to the next page in their book and to work quickly and quietly so they can eventually get to their math stations.  Here are a few pictures from today's entry:

It took A LOT longer than expected but isn't that always the case the first couple weeks of school?!? :)  Hopefully we will get this down so it only takes about 10-15 minutes.

Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here and man am I ready!!!
