Living and Nonliving & Fire Safety Week Fun {Freebie}

Last week we started discussing Living and Nonliving items in Science.  This week we did a few activities that I wanted to share with you all.

First we discussed the things we learned about things that live. I had made some cards with the vocabulary that they need to know for our science standards.  After we reviewed last weeks info we did a whole group sort with real photographs in my pocket chart.

Next I had the students do their own sort.  They were to use their best kindergarten coloring, then cut and glue into the categories.

We have a little emergent reader that I made that hopefully we'll get to tomorrow! :)  If you are interested in my Living/Nonliving mini-unit you can check it out here:

It's also Fire Safety week this week and we honestly haven't done too much yet.  Here are a few projects that I found in my October box that I have done in past years:

This was our Sparky the dog craft!  Super cute!

This project we did last year.  I found in on Pinterest.  I can't take credit for this one.  I couldn't find the original poster but there are a ton of different variations of this on Pinterest.

And here's a cute little freebie for you from a new product I'm working on with patterns:

Update 10/10/13 October Fest - Printable Patterns are now available!

 Hope you like it! :)
